THE SPOTLIGHT OF NIGERIAN POLITICS

Nigeria - Atiku Abubakar:
Crown Prince Of 2015
Author:Sadeeq Ahmad Gumel
November 5 2014

If Chief Olusegun Obasanjo did not behave in an
unstatesmanship manner in 2007,all these
political logjam, controvervies and static nature of
things in running the country could not have
occurred and reared its ugly head.Alhaji Atiku
Abubakar ,the former Vice-President, could have
been rounding up his second tenure as Executive

President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria.
Experience is always the best teacher and it is
important in the development process of
Democracy.Atiku Abubakar is all quantity and
quality of achievements. What matters most in
governance is to provide leadership to the people
and as well as to give them grassroot
facilities,roads,amenities that range from
dispensaries and clinics.
Today in Nigeria, our beloved Nation, all these are
lacking. There is no light, no security, people and
persons at will kill, maim and murder neighbours
and fellow citizens. Life is no longer valued in
Nigeria. There is no tolerance for others
beliefs.Others steal and guzzle money and
continue building mansions and plazas with no
conscience, while others cannot pay their rent.
What is expected from any politician and every
contestant is to provide succour,provide
employment,provide comfort to the ordinary
citizen. Atiku Abubakar has provided that
modestly even without the instruments of power
and authority. In his immediate constituency at
least, I will continue writing about them, because
he seems to be the only person doing it from
there [Adamawa State], who else?
I have seen the American University of
Nigeria,Adama Beverages,Intels,Acti
Ltd,Gesedadirabe Farms, Restaurants and the
WOTCLEF by his wife,Titi, all these are
organizations and firms that are providing and
have provided livelihood to a many in Adamawa
State in particular and Nigeria in general.
Let me reveal to you why Atiku Abubakar is a
hero in todays Nigeria, from the microcosm
to the macrocosm. You cannot succeed in a
complex society like ours, if you are
boastful,arrogant,haughty and look down upon
others because of their background,tribe,religion
and region. The first acceptance the former Vice-
President had in 1987 was his embracing all or
most of the tribes in Gongola State. In every
committee, in each other research group, he
commissioned, most of the ethnic groups from
the Higgi,the Kamwe,Margi,Fali,Bachama,
Chamba, Lunguda, Kanakuru, Gra,
Matakam ,Gude-he made a careful choices to
represent different interests.
This was replicated across the Nation as he had
friends as Deputy-President in Delta, Rivers,
Bayelsa, Anambra, Ebonyi, Osun, Lagos, Akwa
Ibom, Cross River State, Oyo, Katsina,
Sokoto, Borno, Niger and Plateau States.
Just reason, with all the hullaballo and the
abracadabra that have been going on since
December 2013,hardly did you hear and watch
Atiku Abubakar make controversial statements
humiliating, denigrating, castigating, blackmailing
or arrogating to himself judgments like others.
Leadership means tolerance and maturity and
discipline, control of the tongue and the
mind.Atiku Abubakar has a quality of a guarded
tongue. It is an essential quality in leading this
country. We do not need garrulous talkative
Executive President who makes inflammatory
statements.
Atiku Abubakar would rather make comments on
the dilapidated nature of our education like he
recently did in Kaduna, Nigeria.
This is the time to rally around Atiku Abubakar to
become President in 2015 to rebuild unity. He will
finish what he has started successfully. Just take
a look at these traditional titles, the former Vice-
President has. On the surface, you can belittle
them but they are important in the scheme of
things. Let us start with the one he had at the
age of thirty-two [32]years,Turaki Adamawa, then
the subsequent titles,Sardauna Ganye,Shettima
Biu,Zanna Zantalma of Borno, Zege Mule U Tiv,
Enyioha Ndiigbo of Enugu, Aaare the Source of Ife,
Mayedoro of Lagos,Sardauna Arewa etc. There
are others from Bayelsa, Kaduna, Kwara and
Gombe States.
Whether former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar
contests the Presidency on the ticket of Peoples
Democratic Party, All progressive Congress, National
Democratic Movement, labour party or Mega Party, he is in the
best positioned to lead this country now or after.
We need a decisive leader, a bold and courageous
individual who can face any other world-leader,
Head of State or President in the face and tell
him, this is what we want in Nigeria and he gets
it at once.
We do not have to look too far because he has
the antecedents as a partner and associates who
stopped third term and looked a sitting President
in the face and said no. He did it. We must put
aside prejudices and rally around Atiku
Abubakar ,so that as President and Commander-
in-Chief, he will turn the tide and give us a
blossoming economy. We must shove aside and
ignore hatchet writers whether from abroad, from
outside or inside. They do not meaning, while they
are lies and concocted falsehood.
Atiku Abubakar has what it takes to be the
President, without any question attached
Who has ever risen anyway to the top without
railed at? Who has ever become a champion
without being told you cannot make it?. We are at
a point that we need a vastly experienced person
who has the knowledge, wisdom and network to
make things turn around
In politics,it is give and take and today, whatever
need, whatever want, the aspirant or contestant
must seem to give and wholeheartedly. In the
whole of Nigeria, who can give generously like
Turaki Adamawa?Let him come out and see who
he is.He is the right choice and the most
detribalized Nigerian and can render services
across board.
Nigeria is such a big country that needs a
capable hand, a citizen who knows the intrigues
of global politics.Atiku Abubakar has network
worldwide that if it means to reach out to them
to bring change to us,he can do it and do it
efficiently.
To me, he is the crown prince of Nigerian politics
2015. We should root for him. We should support
him and motivate him and send him messages or
texts of support to info@atikucentre.org
